Toulouse's public transit runs on the Tisséo network, two metro lines, tram lines, and a wide bus grid, all on one fare system. The metro is your workhorse: Line An and Line B cross at Jean Jaurès, and between them they cover most of the places a visitor wants to reach. Fares are cheap enough that you won't think twice about hopping on for a couple of stops. Pick up a Pastel card at any metro station kiosk, it's rechargeable, works across metro, tram, and bus, and saves you from fumbling for exact change or queueing for single tickets every ride. From Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, the dedicated airport shuttle bus runs into the city center and is a fraction of what a taxi costs. It's the obvious first move for most visitors. Taxis from the airport are comfortable but comparatively a splurge, and ride-hailing is available if you prefer to book through an app. Don't let a tout at arrivals steer you into an unmarked car, stick to the official taxi rank or a licensed app-based ride. One thing first-timers get wrong: trying to bus across the city when the metro would cut the trip in half.
